About Us

Newman Student Fellowship at University Heights is a joint community of students from NJIT and Rutgers. Our community includes Catholics, Christians from other churches, and others who are simply searching to learn more about the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Our Mission

Our mission is to pursue and promote an on-going and ever-deepening life in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His Church. We seek to advance Christian unity and to become a community of mature disciples of Jesus by drawing regularly from the treasury He has entrusted to His Church, especially the Word of God, the Sacraments, and a deep prayer life that overflows in loving service of our neighbor.

Our Beliefs

Our faith is founded upon and nourished by Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life - "the Father's one, perfect, and unsurpassable Word" (Catechism of the Catholic Church , par. 65). We believe that the full and living Gospel of Jesus Christ, first entrusted to the Apostles selected by our Lord, has been handed down and preserved faithfully by the Apostles and their successors, the bishops of the Catholic Church. We believe that the full revelation of Christ comes down to us both in the form of the Sacred Scriptures and in the living tradition of the Church, found in the doctrine, life, and worship of the Church (see Catechism of the Catholic Church, par. 74-90).
